I will admit I was a little lazy this month, I did my usual round of the popular bars very quickly and then headed off to The Fridge where I spent the night sitting at the bar watching the crowd in the street have fun.

I did meet this couple, Cullen and Lana (not sure I spelled that right) and they were quite a good laugh, Cullen was definitely enjoying the liquid refreshment in The Fridge and Lana didn’t seem too far behind him!

The Fridge was a little quiet last night, but that was pretty cool also, as it meant I got to chat to some friends without being squashed by the usual crowds. I’m sure the place will be a lot busier on boxing day as Brandon Block is booked to play.
That just about brings this little report to an end, no recording for you this month as I am intending to bring you a full length downloadable MP3 of the entire Brandon Block set from The Fridge on boxing day.

I am especially excited by this as The Fridge is my usual hang out on Full Moon Party night, so it will be something very special for me. For those of you who haven’t visited The Fridge before it’s very easy to find. From the beach, walk along until you find Drop Inn Bar, you will notice that it has two parts, one on each side of a small road heading up from the beach. Walk up this road about 200 metres until you come to a small square with a tree growing in the middle of it. You should now see the entrance to The Fridge on your left.

We will definitely be there for the coming Full Moon Party as well as re-visiting on the next Full Moon Party Night to hear Alex P in action!

Unfortunately The Fridge was closed for the evening so we were forced to mix it with the mad folks out on the beach, pretty good fun actually and if the time I got home was any indication I surely must have had a good time!

Unfortunately part of our recording equipment was stolen a few days later at the Half Moon Party, only to be retrieved again a few days later missing the Full Moon Party recording so no sound for you this month, I promise to make up for it with a large dose next month along with the usual party report, hopefully with a little more content than this one!

If you want to hear some of the best music that has been played on Koh Phangan in a long while then I suggest you get along to The Fridge and enjoy Tim’s performance.

The Fridge is pretty easy to find, look for the road that runs from the beach up between the two halves of the Drop In Bar, halfway up that street you will find a large tree growing, the entrance to The Fridge is easy to spot from here. Don’t expect bamboo and old wooden tables here, The Fridge is a little classier, definitely not the usual kind of bar you find on Koh Phangan, much more like a small club from back home.

We will be covering the Full Moon Party from The Fridge again this month although we will get out into the crowds a little more this time around.

Well he has been booked for a follow up appearance for this coming Full Moon Party! If you want to hear what without a doubt is the best music to be played on Koh Phangan this year delivered by the hands of a master I suggest you come along to The Fridge on party night.

We will definitely be there, 100% no doubt at all. Rumour also has it that Tim has been booked for some warm up nights pre-party as well, we will keep you posted about this, I recommend nobody misses this guy if they have the chance.

So last night came as a complete shock to me, I had the best night that I have had at a party on Koh Phangan for a very very long time. The crowd in The Fridge were cool people and the music was pretty amazing, mostly due to this guy.

This is Tim, he’s from Scotland and last night he rocked The Fridge. I can guarantee you that the quality of music in the club last night was the best in Haad Rin, no doubt about it and it was all down to Tim. I had a good chance for a chat with him and he’s a cool guy, very big on creating music, the kind of DJ who comes across as a musician. I was really surprised to find he is into Techno in a big way as the set he was playing was very eclectic. So I listened a little closer once I had finished speaking with him and you can definitely hear the Techno influence in his mixing. It’s not an in your face kinda thing, it’s there adding energy to the vibe. Much respect Tim, you did a fantastic job last night.

We also met some very drunk people upstairs, these guys were having a good time, one of them is from Canada named Brennith (I think) and the other two guys are from Germany, Jodi and Korbi are their names. At about the same time we met two young ladies who turned out to be aircon worshipers!

I got chatting with a friend of Tim’s named James later, who for some reason I don’t have any pictures of, sorry James. Whilst we were talking Tim wandered over for a chat and I thought to myself who’s mixing this music then?……
I looked over at the DJ booth and there is a girl at the mixing desk, doing a bloody good job, I asked James about this and he just smiled and told me it was his wife, Daniela (hope I spelled that right).

She did a mighty fine job of following on from Tim, some serious DJ talent in The Fridge last night. We need to see more of this on Koh Phangan for sure.
I left at around 4am to go and grab some food, Haad Rin was still very much awake, The Fridge was still going strong but I was starting to feel a little… uhm… tired yes tired, nothing at all to do with the dozen or so Singha I had drunk.

The only slight downside of last night was the taxi ride back to Thongsala. I witnessed two young girls being ripped off and charged 1,500 Baht to be taken to Thong Nai Pan. This is just fucking criminal, it makes me angry at times like this that I don’t speak enough Thai to do something about it. I’m forced to sit and watch as these people are taken to the cleaners.

But putting that aside, it was a fantastic Full Moon Party this month and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
